Al Greer a veteran of radio who started at the tender age of 13. His first experience was Herb Kent's "Teen DJ" show on WVON in 1972.
From there he attended South Shore High School in the seventies where he studied Radio/TV Broadcasting while DJing for clubs and other functions around the city.
In the eighties he attended Columbia and Kennedy-King Colleges before he was "discovered" by a small radio station in Gary, Indiana called WLTH-AM 1370.
He went from part-time to full-time in less than 9 months.

He returned years later to become Operations Manager of that same station.
Follwing his stint in Gary, he accepted a position as Afternoon personality at "DustyRadio 1390"(WGCI-AM) in Chicago replacing his idol Herb Kent.
After several years at "1390" as afternoon and morning man, he accepted a position with WJPC 106.3 FM as Operations Manager and On-Air personality making him the youngest program director in Chicago.
Billed as "Your New Home for all Your Old Favorites", Greer brought "dusties" or "Old School" to a broader listening audience by putting it on an FM signal.
After his brief stint on WJPC, he returned to "1390" as a part-time on-air personality.
After hosting or co-hosting and producing several shows on both "1390" and it's "sister station" WGCI 107.5 FM, Al became the late-night host for the popular show "Whispers in the Dark" replacing Troi Tyler.
From December 2001 until December 2002, Greer was the number one late-night personality in the city.

Al Greer loaned his many talents at his Alma-mata, Kennedy-King College, where he hosted "Bedtime Stories with Al Greer" and "The Music You Grew Up With" on WKKC 89.3 FM.
Al can also be heard on several radio and TV commercials and station voice for WKKC as well as other radio stations around the country.
